Start a "Culture Club"
Sometimes you just can't get to the places you want to visit. Sure you can go to the library and read about it, you can visit online, you can find out about and make the foods that are known to the region. You can be perfectly happy with this most definately. But why not get a group together and make it fun? Start a "Culture Club" in your area!

Put an ad in your support newsletter, or send out personal invitations to people you know might be interested in an activity like this. It's a great way to teach geography, world culture. The possibilities are endless!

Culture Club
Get ready to travel around the world! Enjoy a monthly cultural experience as we study a variety of countries. Any age is welcome to participate. Simply study the country, a little or more in depth, then choose one aspect that you are especially interested in to report about (2-3 minutes long). Projects, pictures, songs, maps, etc. are always interesting to share - creativity catches everyone's interest! Each family then brings a unique food dish from that country to share after the reporting is done. This "feast" allows Moms to be creative, too!

The countries for this school year are:

Sept. 10 - Kenya Feb. 11 - Italy
Oct. 8 - Chile March 10 - Saudia Arabia
Nov. 12 - Cambodia April 14 - Japan
Dec. 10 - France May 12 - Mexico
Jan. 14 - Australia

We will meet on the 2nd Wednesdays of each month at 1:00 at [host family name ] home, [host family address ]. Call [host family phone and email ], if you have any questions. Please feel free to come any month that works for your family.
