My academic background is Computer Science. I worked in the Mechanical Computer Aided Engineering field for 10 years and three years in custom software before that. I traded in my suits and pantyhose for a great kid and the new adventure of “at home full time” over 10 years ago. As any mom who is reading this knows, it is rare get to do the things you really love to do when you have kids, so I try to blend photography with my everyday life. My everyday life includes homeschooling and since I see travel as an important part of education, I make travel part of that homeschool. Many of my photographs are from the places we have been as part of our homeshool.

Even though I am pretty invested in the age of technology, all of my photographs come from film. First with a Minolta X700 and now with a Nikkon N80. Kodak or Fuji? Yes. My interest in photography did not come from the age of technology, but from my original career interest in Commercial Art. I studied one year in Commercial Art about a million years ago and the skills I learned there helped me to enjoy my photography more today. I have taken some photography classes here and there, but mainly what I have learned has come from shooting hundreds of rolls of film.
